CVCOA's Statement on Racial Justice and Equality
The ultimate measure of a person is not where one stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where one stands in times of challenge and controversy.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Central Vermont Council on Aging wishes to acknowledge this critical moment in our nation’s long struggle for racial equality. As long-time advocates for the dignity and respect for all older persons and persons with disabilities, CVCOA supports the ongoing struggle for equality and racial justice in our country and around the world. No matter what race, ethnicity, background or identity, all people are entitled to equal justice; and all systems, institutions, and policies must benefit all people and not just the few.
