March 2023 Newsletter

  • It's March for Meals! This month, you can support your local nutrition program by attending a congregate meal and making a donation, ordering a grab-and-go meal, or becoming a volunteer!

  • Our nutrition programs need support. Newly sponsored H.109 will increase funding for home-delivered meals. Read more here, and then call your local representatives to encourage their support!

  • Our 2022 Impact Report is live! Read about the work we did in the community last year, made possible through your support, at impact.cvcoa.org!
     
  • If you can, please attend your local Town Meeting on Tuesday, March 7, and keep Vermont's civic engagement tradition alive! And, remember to vote "Yes!" for CVCOA! We rely on vital funding from each of the towns we serve in order to meet the needs of older adults and keep Vermont an age-friendly state.
     
  • Save the Date for our second annual Creative Aging Celebration on June 2, from 2:30 to 7:30 PM! We are excited to bring you an incredible exhibit of work from Vermont artists age 60+ along with live workshops and activities! We'll share more details soon!
     
  • We (really, our web developers, Edgeworks Creative) added a map view to our exercise and wellness class listings! Check it out and let us know what you think! 

We're pleased to welcome Sue Catto to the CVCOA team as data entry specialist! Sue shares, “I was born in Barre and have lived here for most of the years I have been alive. For 25 years I have held an annual corn roast for an intimate group of friends at my camp on Labor Day weekend.  Every food item has some type of corn (cornmeal, corn, or popcorn). I have been quite creative!”
