Vermont Aging Network Consortium Renews Partnership with GetSetUp
Vermont Aging Network Consortium Renews Partnership with GetSetUp to Expand Learning, Wellness Programming, and Benefits Education for Older Vermonters
Montpelier, VT (May 11, 2026): The Vermont Aging Network Consortium (VANC) is renewing its partnership with GetSetUp, extending free access to interactive online learning and wellness programming for older Vermonters for an additional year. With older adults now the fastest-growing population in the country, Vermont continues to prioritize investments and partnerships that promote independence, health, and connection for its aging residents.
The renewed collaboration reflects Vermont’s ongoing commitment to ensuring older adults and caregivers have access to meaningful opportunities for lifelong learning, social engagement, and practical education that support independence and healthy aging.
Since launching the partnership, GetSetUp has provided Vermonters with live and on-demand peer-led sessions covering topics such as digital literacy, fall prevention, strength and balance, chronic condition education, caregiver support, and navigating Medicare and other health-related benefits. These programs have been especially valuable for residents in rural communities and individuals who may face barriers to transportation or limited access to in-person services.
Throughout this partnership, GetSetUp has delivered over 73,000 sessions and supported more than 25,000 older adults and caregivers across Vermont, helping participants build confidence, stay connected, and enhance their overall well-being.
Vermont’s long-standing commitment to community-based aging services is reflected in the dedication of our network partners to reaching older adults where they live,” said Cheryl Gilbert, Chief Operations & Financial Officer of the Vermont Aging Network Consortium. “GetSetUp strengthens this work by providing accessible opportunities for learning, connection, and wellness that help Vermonters stay active, informed, and engaged. Renewing this collaboration supports our shared goal of advancing independence, health, and meaningful connection for older adults across the state.”
As part of the renewal agreement, VANC and GetSetUp will continue expanding high-demand programming designed to support both physical and mental well-being, while helping older Vermonters navigate essential healthcare and aging services resources.
For many learners, the experience has provided both knowledge and a sense of community.
“I’m very grateful to the State of Vermont for enrolling in this program. I talk about it to other people. I try not to brag that I’m exercising every day, and I feel great about it. I think it’s doing positive things for me,” said one Vermont GetSetUp learner, Lori.
GetSetUp provides older adults and caregivers with live and on-demand sessions led by trained instructors, offering programming designed specifically for aging populations. Classes focus on wellness, fitness at all levels, cognitive engagement, and technology skills that support telehealth use and access to online resources.
The renewed partnership supports Vermont’s broader goals of reducing isolation and strengthening healthy aging efforts statewide by providing accessible, engaging opportunities for learning and connection.
GetSetUp programming remains available at no cost to eligible Vermonters through participating VANC network organizations.
