Come for lunch at noon and stay for the first in a series of three presentations by Bill from AARP.
These presentations will help you to recognize the telltale signs of scams and fraud in areas of everyday life. The goal is to raise your awareness of how scammers operate and teach you how to spot a fraud or scam so that you can be aware and not fearful.
Weapons of Fraud – includes an overview of leading scams, techniques of con artists, and a discussion of the steps to take to avoid victimization. This is AARP’s “Flagship” presentation, is their oldest program, and has been presented most frequently and is regularly updated. While addressing a wide range of issues, it does not cover computer/cyber scams.
