Exercise and Wellness Classes
CVCOA's evidence-based wellness programs, led by certified class leaders, can help you stay active, engaged, and connected in your community. Participating in an exercise class can have a tremendous impact on your health and well-being, helping you improve balance, mobility, strength, and flexibility, and aiding in relaxation. Classes are offered throughout the region and can change from season to season based on volunteer and space availability. These classes are free for people age 60+.
Evidence-based exercise classes include:
- Falls Prevention Tai Chi is a Sun Style form of Tai Chi. It is a variety of movements and forms that specifically work on fall prevention strategies like weight transference, mindfulness, and balance.
- Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is a low joint impact physical strength training activity program proven to reduce pain and decrease stiffness. The sessions include gentle range-of-motion exercises that are suitable for every fitness level and ability. These enjoyable and motivational classes may be taken either standing or sitting in a chair.
Additional exercise classes are offered around the region, including Bone Builders, Lift for Life, and Strong Living.
