Beginning with Respect for You

to age at home, remain healthy, and stay active and connected to the community you know and love.

Thank you to the more than 259 volunteers

who gave 21,000 hours of their time last year

to help older Vermonters age with dignity and choice!

Our Mission

As the leading expert and advocate in healthy aging for Central Vermonters, our mission is to support Central Vermonters to age with dignity and choice. At CVCOA, we respect the wishes of aging persons to age at home, remain healthy, and stay active and connected to the communities they know and love. We offer programs and services for people age 60+, caregivers, and their families. We're grateful to all sponsors and donors who support this mission.

Tasty Bites

Our Tasty Bites video and recipe series teaches you how to make inexpensive, nutritious recipes that feed one or two people in just a few minutes!

Hit the Trail

This year’s Hit the Trail promises to be an unforgettable day with an essential mission! Celebrate and recreate on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail by lacing up your running or walking shoes or climbing onto your bicycle.

Taking care of Colman is a 24/7 challenge for me (spouse). Meals on Wheels ensures he receives one good solid meal per day. It is helpful as he has a very good appetite. It is wonderful to receive one healthy meal per day that doesn't require preparation. Praise for our Nutrition Programs from Anonymous
A really lovely person delivered the kit to me – right to my front door even! It is incredible that you do this for those of us who can’t go out much. The Drawing kit has been so much fun and has kept my mind active. I was able to try mediums I otherwise would not have ever tried. The fact that I could do these activities at home was so helpful for me as I can’t come and go as easily as I once could. Praise for our Creative Aging program from Anonymous
After my wife received a diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer’s it became clear that we needed to find outlets for socialization and mental stimulation. I was fortunate to be introduced to the Central Vermont Council on Aging where my wife has been able to participate in their quarterly in-person Memorable Times Cafe and weekly Jukebox zoom calls. My wife always comes back excited and rejuvenated from the discussions and activities these events provide and helps me in providing care for what would otherwise be a challenging situation. I am grateful for the support CVCOA provides. Praise for our Caregiver Support program from Anonymous
Every time when I talk about a problem I’m having, it’s just like boom, my agent is right there. He’s got the knowledge of what can be done and he knows how to help me with just about anything I present. He takes action right away. I think it’s such a beneficial thing for people, this whole program. I seriously do. Praise for our Case Management services from Anonymous
I feel stronger and healthier. My balance is better. And my mental health has held up this winter. Some weeks this class is my major social interaction and I would miss it terribly if it was not available! Praise for our Exercise Classes from Anonymous
